Oral Presentation TDR

Why I chose this topic?
The answer of this question is my family. You must know that all members of my family are related with sea. On the one hand the family on my father's side were fishermans since my great-grandfather. So since I was a child I have been related with this world, like help my grandfather to do some reparations and others things...
On the other hand, the family on my mother's side there is my uncle who in the past played a lot of yacht races and he was a important captain. “Va ser” with this relative that I did my first crossing Roses to BCN
Moreover this summer I discovered windsurf and kietsurf which nowadays are my favorite water-sports. Maybe all of this wonderful experiences that I passed into the sea are the reason for I chose this topic.

OBJECTIVES
When I started this research project my objective was learn to build a ship like shipbuilding was doing since nowadays. On the other hand I saw that I couldn't do this without specifically glossary so this is the other important part of my research project.
The other objective of this research project is pay a homage to this artisans whose only with their hands and a few tools they can build masterpiece like ships which help fishermans.

PROBLEMS
Perhaps the most important problem that I found when I was doing my research project was the few information cause of the extinction of this job. The extinction of this job started the same time that new synthetic materials like plastics arrived to improve durable and resistance of boats.
Other important problem that I found was the terminology of words. The problem was that pronunciation of my informers are different than correct word, so always I spent a lot of time to search definition.
All of words specifically of this job are illustrated on the glossary, to do this task I use GIMP to brink up the parts of ship that I would like to describe.

Technological process
The first step is design a model of future ship. The master shipwright build a model with wood. After this they separate the strips and then they can extract plans.
They go to forest to obtain the most appropriate wood to build ribs, keel.
They begin with skeleton of ship, 1st keel and after this they put ribs over keel.
When the skeleton is finished the master shipwright begin to cover this skeleton to create hull.
After this operation master shipwright caulk hull to prof the boat. This task finish with checking the prof, they put water into the ship to see if this have some holes or cracks.
Finally the paint the boat with shipowner's (armador) color, because in the past all fishermen have a typical combination of color

On the other hand there are three verbs characteristic of this job MIRAR POWER POINT
calafatar is the most important verb. The origin of this verb is Grek and this is because in the past ships undergo and evolved in this place. And after this evolution boats have keel.

Conclusion
In this research project I learn a lot of things of this wonderful and old job, like build a model or understand the technological process. Moreover I can interview a master shipwright and see their workshop. On the other hand this project help me to think with my academic future.
Finally I hope that this project with their glossary, help to remember these mans and their creations.

Self Evaluation
First of all I would like to begin with presentation, well this section is a disastrous, in my power point there were some words in Catalan and some mistakes. Moreover I think that my pronunciation and language were very bad, I don't know why I was nervous, normally I am very happy to prepare oral presentation, but this time was different.
On the other hand I think that my project has a good structure because while I was talking the power point reflect what I speak., for example the technological process. Maybe the structure and content are the best sections of my oral presentation, I think that my topic is very interesting, because nowadays there weren't master shipbuilding.

I am very sad, in my opinion I think that this is the worst presentation that I have ever done, probably because my condition. Sorry teacher :(
